The Rev. Dr. John F. States , from Jackson Township, is our new interim pastor. He was born and reared near Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. Rev. States has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York; a Master
of Divinity degree, with a major in couseling, from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky; and a Doctor of Ministry
degree, in marriage and family, from Eastern Baptist Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pastor States is a former
clinical member of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. He received his training in interim ministry from
the Interim Ministry Network. Rev. States has worked as a hospital chaplain, a settled pastor, and an interim pastor
in Kentucky, southwestern Pennsylvania and northeastern, Ohio. He is married to Susan Morey States from Greene, Ohio,
in Trumbull County. Susan is a home economics teacher at Edison Junior High School. John and Susan have two grown
sons. David is an electrical engineer at Eaton Corporation and lives in Cranberry, Pennsylvania. Carl is an area
representative for Epson Printers and resides in Jackson Township. Pastor John's hobbies include wood working, welding,
fishing, and reading.
