Winter Doldrums

We are in the season of the year when it is snowy and cold and those cement colored skies rob us of sunshine. We long for the warm sun and pray for an early spring. There is a seasonal illness called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). The characteristic of this disease are depression, gloominess, and a lack of en-ergy. Medical experts tell us that SAD comes from the lack of sunshine. The symptoms of SAD are improved by sitting before a special light each day. Christian’s can get a spiritual SAD where they feel down, sad, and listless during dark days and difficult times. These symptoms can be improved by getting in the Sonshine, the light of Jesus. When you are feeling down and blue, get into the Word of God. Let the light of Jesus and the light of the Word drive away the gloom and depression.
