On August 2-7, 2009, the Youth group partnered with Community Christian Church to travel to
Copperhill, Tennessee on a missions trip. In attendance from First Christian were Jacob Blymiller, April Brown, Erica
Brown, Nate Dulabahn and Linda Remark. After a long 11 hour trip on Sunday the youth settled into their cabins at Eagle
Ranch. On Monday and Tuesday the youth and leaders spent many warm hours in the sun priming and painting two houses
for residents in the area. The youth worked hard and did a great job! On those nights the groups relaxed by having
a volleyball tournament at camp and going for ice cream in Georgia! Wednesday's project was at Eagle Ranch's
Homestead Ranch where a porch was screened in, windows were screened and a porch swing was built! A lot of manual labor
went into that day, but also a lot of fun and love. That night as a group "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince"
was watched at a drive-in movie in Georgia. Thursday the group went white water rafting on the Ocoee River. No
one was lost...for too long anyway. Intimidated at first, many went into the water scared but walked away with a great
experience and fun memories. After white water rafting, tubing was scheduled for a relaxing end to the day. Finally,
another 11 hour drive on Friday landed the youth group back home. It was a week full of fellowship, service and worship
and a trip that we will all cherish! We are very thankful for everyone who supported the youth in the many fundraisers
in order for us to spread God's love in an area filled with His beauty!
