Faith in Action Special Offering

During our worship service on Sunday, June 27, 2010, our congregation was blessed to have a representative from Faith in Action, as a guest speaker.  Faith in Action, formerly known as Massillon Interfaith Caregivers, was started in July 1997 as a faith based non-profit organization providing services and assistance to help strengthen and improve the quality of life for the elderly and disabled population in need within Western Stark County.  Some available services include transportation to appointments, visits at home, hospital, or nursing home, shopping assistance, respite care, yard clean up, light maintenance, telephone reassurance and reassessments, and providing material goods when qualified as needed.

Faith in Action has served a total of 962 people and currently has 65 volunteers serving 183 people.  Since the onset of the program volunteers have served over 68,658 hours to Care Receivers in Western Stark County.  The needs for these free services continue to grow.  As an active Christian Congregation we had a special offering on June 27, to help provide support funds to assist Faith in Action with reaching out to those in need.  By Seeking, Sharing, and Serving Christ, be generous with giving or volunteering.

If you were unable to attend the service on Sunday, June 27, donations can also be sent to:

Busy Hands

The women of Busy Hands would like to thank all of those who have helped with donations to their mission. Thanks to you and to their “busy hands” they were able to give to a local school, 67 pairs of gloves, 22 hats, 12 glove and hat sets, and 52 scarves. They were also able to give to the Family Living Center in Massillon, 20 pairs of slippers, 1 hat and 9 afghans. These women have donated many, many hours to making these items, and we at First Christian would like to thank them for being representatives of our church.

Sunday School Offering Support for
Franquelis Jimeniz through the
Dominican Project

Did you know that we are continuing to support a child from the Dominican Republic through our Sunday School offerings?  We support Franquelis Jimenez monthly with our gift of $40 to the Dominican Project.  This helps to insure Franquelis receives food, clothing and education through the day care program.  Franquelis is four years old, enjoys sports and lives with his mother, father and siblings.
