Happy Birthday Franquelis!

Over a year ago, the Sunday school classes decided to sponsor a child through the Dominican Project.  Our child is Franquelis Jimenez and his birthday is April 4.  He will be 5 years old.  A note was received from him along with a picture saying "I am content and happy and I love you all.  Thank you!"  Isn't it wonderful knowing that we have helped make one child's life better.  We will have a card available for you to sign and will then send it on to Franquelis with all our birthday wishes.

Dear Busy Hands

On behalf of the AHEAD Foundation and the families and students in Massillon City Schools, I would like to thank you for your generous gift of hand-made scarves, hats and gloves.  This very thoughtful donation will be put to good use for the youth in our schools.  The school counselors have been notified that we have these available and are already asking to get them for their students.  They were very excited and grateful to have these for the students.

It is only through these considerate donations that we are able to help so many in need.  With the financial situation of many of our families being tighter than ever this year, we appreciate your support, thoughts and giving hearts during this time.  AHEAD is happy to have been a part of your contributions to the students in Massillon City Schools.

I'd like to thank everyone and would like to extend my gratefulness and appreciation for the support you have all given me and continue to give me.

Love and God Bless, Ryan Kear

Busy Hands

The women of Busy Hands would like to thank all of those who have helped with donations to their mission. Thanks to you and to their “busy hands” they were able to give to a local school, 67 pairs of gloves, 22 hats, 12 glove and hat sets, and 52 scarves. They were also able to give to the Family Living Center in Massillon, 20 pairs of slippers, 1 hat and 9 afghans. These women have donated many, many hours to making these items, and we at First Christian would like to thank them for being representatives of our church.

Sunday School Offering Support for
Franquelis Jimeniz through the
Dominican Project

Did you know that we are continuing to support a child from the Dominican Republic through our Sunday School offerings?  We support Franquelis Jimenez monthly with our gift of $40 to the Dominican Project.  This helps to insure Franquelis receives food, clothing and education through the day care program.  Franquelis is four years old, enjoys sports and lives with his mother, father and siblings.
